When creating a Discord account, you can add an avatar that will display on your profile when someone is viewing it.
When you open Discord and try to view someone’s avatar, you will realize that you can’t zoom it to get a clear and enlarged image.
It gets worse when using the Discord mobile as the view will narrow, and you won’t get a clear picture. However, there are different tricks you can use.
The most convenient way to view avatars on Discord is by using a Discord profile viewer. For this, you will need to enable the developer mode for your Discord account and proceed to copy your Discord user ID or that of the person you want to view their avatar. Once you paste the ID, you will get profile details, including an enlarged avatar. Alternatively, you can access Discord on the browser and view the image from the developer tools.

How To View Avatar on Discord
The Discord avatar appears minimized when you view it from your Discord account, and you can get a clear view.
However, there is a way to see an enlarged version of your Discord avatar, provided you know the steps to follow.
Method #1: Using a Discord Profile Viewer
Different Discord profile viewers help extract the profile details of Discord users, provided you have the Discord user ID of the person you want to view their avatar.
The best part is that with this option, you can use it with your mobile or desktop Discord application, and the steps are straightforward.
You only need to get the profile ID, which remains hidden by default. However, when you enable the “Developer mode” on your Discord, you can copy your user ID or that of others.
For Mobile
- Open your Discord application and sign in.
- Click on your profile picture to open the user settings page.
- Scroll down and click on the “Advanced” section.
- Locate the option for “Developer Mode” and enable it.
- Go to your profile picture and click the three dots at the top.
- Click the option for “Copy User ID”.
- Open your browser and access the Discord profile viewer page.
- Paste the copied ID and click the “Search” button.
For Desktop
- Open your Discord application.
- Click the user settings icon at the bottom.
- Click the “Advanced” tab.
- On the next window, locate the option for “Developer Mode” and enable it.
- Right-click on any user and click the “Copy User ID” option.
- Open your browser and access the Discord profile viewer page.
- Paste the ID and click the “Search” button.
The Discord profile viewer will extract the profile details of the added profile ID. You can then comfortably view your avatar or that of the user who you copied their ID.
Method #2: Using the Browser Developer Tools
This option is more technical but still works in helping you view an avatar on Discord.
- Visit Discord’s website on your browser.
- Login to your Discord account.
- Locate the person whose avatar you want to see.
- Right-click on the target person and click on the profile.
- Press the Ctrl + Shift + I keyboard keys to open the “Inspect Element” window on the browser.
- Click on the “Elements” tab.
- Tap on the target person’s user profile avatar.
- You will notice the code being highlighted on the “Elements” tab.
- Repeatedly click the arrow next to the div option to open the svg > foreignObject > div > img.
- You will notice a URL showing next to the img.
- Copy this URL and paste it on another tab.
Once it loads, you will see the Discord avatar on this new tab. You’ve managed to view someone’s Discord avatar.
Conclusion
You won’t get a clear view when you try to view the Discord avatar from the application.
However, if you use a Discord profile viewer or access the developer tools and get the avatar’s URL, you will comfortably manage to view the particular Discord avatar.
